OK - so we trotted down to rock city last night and caught Vain. It rocked. Plain and simple. No messing. Genuinely great performance that ended with an agonised crowd chanting No Respect. That was the down side they didn't play it cos Rock City laid a curfew. I missed the boys from New generation Superstars due to arriving late, but I'll be catching up more with this tour on Tuesday and Friday.

Vain were fantastic but the night was terrible. I cant believe how they got away with putting so many people in the basement. Two rooms free, one twice the size and the other 10 times the size and instead they ruined it for a lot of people. We were kicked pushed and punched (and they know who they are) and it was so crammed we could hardly breathe. Apart from not being able to see a damn thing. Its a good job the music was so good thats all i can say.

It should have been upstairs ... however Rock City in their infinite wisdom had opened the main room during the day for the FA Cup Final on a fuck off screen. They didn't kick out til 7. Good plan - I think not. So yeah, it did suck cos there were way too many people down there. Found a spot near the bar and had a great time tho. I also thought it sucked that they laid that curfew down so we didn't get No Respect.

The Rock Shitty basement is crap, too small for anything, total waste of time.

Looking forward to the Mean Fiddler on Friday, a decent venue.

I say Poley's Bone Machine downstairs at RC.
Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on
your perspective), it wasn't that packed.

I've heard a whisper the London venue were
charging Vain too much to film the gig
(for their DVD). I could have done it for
peanuts.
